It is said that places come to life through their stories. And by the people who live there. It’s the same with us.
We, Patrizia and Benno, are delighted to welcome you and would like to tell you a little about ourselves and our Patris.
Always with a smile on her face and dedicated to our guests, Patrizia is known as the heart and soul of the place. She mainly manages the reception, but can also be found everywhere else in the hotel, after all, as a hostess you always have your hands full. Thanks to her relaxed and friendly manner Patrizia is popular with guests and employees and anyone who knows her realises: you can’t help but love her.
If Patrizia is the heart and soul of the place, then Benno is probably the head and in it he has the largest hiking map of the area. Benno not only knows the secrets of our wine list, but also the most beautiful hikes and bike tours around the Dobbiaco Dolomites. He likes to take our guests there when he is not busy in the restaurant or with his sheep.
Inspired by the idea of Patrizia’s father to offer our guests in Dobbiaco maximum exclusivity, the idea of a sustainable hotel in Dobbiaco came about, on the green meadow next to our lovingly managed farm. Hence the name “Patris”, which in Latin means “father/creator”.
Why Patris stands where it stands is almost self-explanatory. We wanted to create a place of peace and relaxation, embedded in wide meadows and surrounded by the rocky peaks of the Dolomites. Nestled in a breathtaking natural setting, best enjoyed with a sunset aperitif on our terrace …
We are committed to embracing sustainability wherever possible and preserving the natural landscape for future generations. In our kitchen and restaurant we therefore place great importance on local products of the highest quality and get part of them from our own farm. And in terms of energy, we also partly supply ourselves with an in-house photovoltaic system and the heat recovery from the sauna.
Inspired by the characteristic facades of traditional farms from the surrounding area were the wooden beams typical of South Tyrol are integrated into the architecture of our hotel. They not only represent an aesthetic element but also symbolize our deep connection to farm life and tradition.
